Hostel Ars Viva, Podcerkev

It is a great starting point for exploring Slovenian tourist attractions such as Cross Cave, Snežnik, the Regional Park of Notranjska, Slivnica, Postojna Cave, Škocjan Caves, and Lipica.
We are a great hostel for cyclists as we provide a wide range of hiking and cycling tours for sporting enthusiasts. Our location highlights the idyllic tranquillity of the surrounding nature, and our accommodation services are based exclusively on a direct and warm connection with our visitors. We see tourism as people travelling towards one another, towards the different, the new, and the interesting.
Surrounding facilities: There are many free parking spots around the hostel. Guests are welcome to buy drinks and snacks at the vending machine at Reception. The area around Lož Valley has some of the most famous local inns where you can taste extraordinary varietal wines and home-made fruit brandy, and enjoy some local delicacies. More information is available at the Tourist Office, where you can also buy unique home-made souvenirs.

You can also go canoeing, take a swim in Lake Bloke, go kitesurfing, play basketball or football, go horse riding, or take a tour of the Regional Park of Notranjska in a carriage drawn by Lipizzaner horses.
You can take in the natural wonders of the region on a birding tour, guided by an expert who will show you the various local birds and their nesting places. No visit to Lož Valley, however, would be complete without a tour of Cross Cave, the world-famous Karst cave, and a trip to Snežnik Forest with a chance to observe and photograph bears and other animals. Special occasions call for special entertainment programmes, which we are happy to organize and tailor to guests of all ages. To make your experience at the hotel even more interesting, we host a variety of events, presentations of traditional and contemporary art, collections, exhibitions, workshops, and concerts.
You can relax in the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside, and fully experience our unspoiled nature and the beauty of its animate and inanimate elements. You can take in the landscape, and get acquainted with the local culture, the history of our towns, and the traditional ways of life by talking to members of the community. You can also enjoy many nature-related activities. Waking up to the song of the many local birds. A paddle in a clear river pool. A cycle along paths that once belonged to shepherds, accompanied by the chirping of birds and the rustling of the trees. The exploration of the wonders of nature. A sing-along around a camp fire.
